Nikos Vlahos M.D,
Is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Athens School of Medicine.
After graduating with Honors from the Medical School of the University of Athens he moved to the United States in 1993.
He completed a four year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1997 and a three year fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology in 2000 at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore MD, USA. During his residency he was the recipient of the Award for Excellence in Endoscopic procedures by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL). He was also the Recipient of the Galloway award in Gynecological Oncology and he completed the Galloway fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York NY.
Following the completion of his fellowship, in July 2000, he was offered the position of Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital at the division of Reproductive Endocrinology.
In October 2004, Dr. Vlahos returned to Greece to accept a position at the medical school of the University of Athens.
Dr. Vlahos’s areas of Expertise include the whole spectrum of Reproductive Endocrinology and Assisted Reproductive technologies. He is also an expert in minimally invasive surgery (Laparoscopic, Hysteroscopic and Robotic)
He holds board certifications both by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists ( ACOG) and by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).
His research interests include the areas of endometriosis, pelvic pain, infertility and minimally invasive surgery. He has published more than 70 peer-reviewed papers and several book chapters.
