Call for Abstracts

Abstracts should be submitted in English with correct spelling and grammar via this website only. 
 
 
The Abstract
 
  •  The abstract should comprise the names and affiliations/institutions of the presenting author and all co-authors.
  • The abstract title is limited to 30 words in UPPER CASE.
  • The body of the abstract should be concise and include no more than 250 words.
  •  The presenting author and co-authors’ names and affiliations are not included in the 250 words permitted in the abstract's body.
  • Please enter the online registration form or the abstract submission form in order to create your personal profile and to receive a password. Once you have a password you may submit an abstract, register and make hotel reservations.
  • Only standard abbreviations are acceptable. Special or unusual acronyms should be defined before the first appearance of the pertinent acronym that should be in parentheses.
  • Authors may include just one illustration (figure or table in black and white (maximum width 7 cm). Only JPG files are acceptable. Colour illustrations will be printed in black and white in the abstract book.

Online Submission

  • Please follow the instructions on the screen.
  • When finalizing online submission, it is imperative to click the «submit» button for final submission.
  • A message will then appear informing you that the abstract has been registered successfully. Receipt of your abstract submission will be confirmed by e-mail. This confirmation of abstract receipt is NOT a notice of acceptance of your abstract.

  • Only abstracts of authors who have paid their registration fees will be scheduled for presentation and included in the Book of Abstracts and website.
  • Please do not submit multiple copies of the same abstract.
  • Once you have a password you may submit an abstract, register and make hotel reservations.


General Information

 Authors will be asked to select the following:

  1. Topic category: Choose the topic category that refers to the main subject of the abstract. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to re-categorize the abstract.
  2. Presentation preference: Authors should indicate the presentation preference (oral or poster). Please note that the final decision on the presentation type will be made by the Scientific Committee.
  3. Keywords: Authors are required to provide 1 to 3 keywords (unrelated to category).


Abstract Selection Process

Abstracts submitted for presentation will be reviewed by an international panel of experts in the subject field.
Abstract review criteria are based on clarity, supporting data, scientific rigour, potential significance, interest in the topic chosen, and innovation or usefulness.
Research obviously not yet performed, and results not yet obtained will be banned.

Abstracts will be selected for one of the following presentation formats:

Oral presentation:
The abstract is selected for oral presentation at any of the sessions.

Poster presentation:
The abstract is selected for presentation in a poster format. Posters are grouped by topic and are displayed throughout the meeting.
 If the presenting author cannot attend, a replacement should be assigned and the COGI secretariat be informed of the replacement as soon as possible.
