Cultural World Heritage - Tour Description

The settlement of Macau by Portuguese navigators, in the mid-16th century laid the basis for nearly 5 centuries of uninterrupted contact between East and West. The tour will cover most of the Historic Centre of Macau - listed as UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. It is the oldest, the most complete and consolidated array of European architectural legacy standing intact on Chinese territory, which retained their original function and spirit to the present day.

The tour starts at A-ma temple which provides a touch of Chinese culture in honor of the Goddess of Seafarers. Continue to the symbol of Macau – Saint Paul’s Ruins with the surviving façade which was built in 1602 and burned in 1835. Climb up the Mount Fortress to enjoy a panoramic view of the cityscape. A stop at Macau Museum then walks down to Senado Square. This is the historic center with St. Dominic’s Church, Holy House of Mercy and Leal Senado.

 


Taipa & Coloane Tour

Taipa Village
Located on what once was Taipa's southern shoreline, the village now overlooks a long stretch of reclaimed land following years of natural siltation. The village offers numerous attractions:Taipa_House
Taipa House Museum is considered as one of the cultural relics and heritages of the Island and consists of 5 houses.
It was built in 1921, as the residences for high superiors and rich Macanese families.
Pou_Tai_UnOur Lady of Carmel Church was built in 1885 and stands on a hill overlooking the sea in Taipa village. It can accommodate over two hundred worshippers at one time, making it apopular venue for weddings.
Carmel Garden. Next to the Church of Our Lady of Carmel on a hill overlooking the village of Taipa and the old Taipa Praia, the garden follows a formal European design.
Pou Tai Un Temple is one of the best-endowed and most picturesque temples in Macau. It was founded in the 18th century by Buddhist monks and dedicated to the Three Precious Buddha and the Kun Iam, Goddess of Mercy.
Coloane Village

The Village centers on Eduardo Marques Square, commonly known as the Square of the Church. At the opposite end of the square stands the mustard-colored Chapel of St. Francis Xavier, built in 1928 and housing the holy bones of Portuguese, Japanese and Vietnamese Catholic martyrs

The Venetian Macau, the second largest building in the world. The building is a replica of Las Vegas Venetian but more than twice its size. Attractions include the indoor canals and 350 shops malls. The Venetian has also the World largest casino and the famous Cirque du Soleil show ZAIA
