Sabrina Rodriguez Campos, DVM FVH, PhD

After obtaining the Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen (Germany) in January 2006, Sabrina Rodriguez Campos started research on the molecular epidemiology of the causative agents of animal tuberculosis at the Animal Health Department and the Health Surveillance Centre VISAVET (Complutense University Madrid, Spain), which hosts the European Reference Laboratory for Bovine Tuberculosis. She received a predoctoral grant FPU from the Spanish Ministry of Education and was awarded grants in 2008, 2009 and 2010 to collaborate with the University College Dublin (Ireland) and the Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency Weybridge (United Kingdom). In 2012 she finished her PhD, distinguished with the Extraordinary PhD Award of the Veterinary Faculty of the Complutense University Madrid.
Currently, Sabrina is working at the Institute of Veterinary Bacteriology, Vetsuisse Faculty Bern (Switzerland) where she is in charge of R&D. In 2013 she obtained the Swiss Diploma as Veterinary Specialist in Laboratory Medicine - Bacteriology (FVH). Her main focus is on the development and improvement of molecular diagnostic methods for detection of animal bacterial diseases, especially in the area of ruminant abortion, for which she obtained a three-year grant funding from the Swiss Federal Veterinary Office in 2014.
