Prof. Davìis particularly involved in research on the role of platelet activation, lipid peroxidation, endothelial dysfunction as well as inflammation in the pathophysiology of atherothrombotic diseases.

Prof. Davìreceived his Medical Degree, Cum Laude, in 1973, at the University School of Medicine, Palermo, Italy, where he later achieved the Board Certification in Gastroenterology and Board Certification in Cardiovascular Disease. Within the Department of Medicine, University School of Medicine of Palermo, he worked as a Clinical and Research Fellow, and from 1981 to 1987, as Assistant Professor.

In 1988 he became Associate Professor of Hematology at the University School of Medicine in Chieti.

From 1989 he is Director of Postgraduate, School of Hematology, in Chieti. From 1989 to 2011 he has also been the Director of the Service for the Prevention and Treatment of Haemorrhagic and Thrombotic Diseases, in the Regional Center for Rare Diseases of Blood and Haemopoietic Tissues, at the Department of Haematology, in Pescara Civil Hospital. From 2000 he is Full Professor of Internal Medicine in Chieti, and from 2001 to 2009 he has been the Ph.D. Program Director in Aging Sciences in the same University. In 2011 he became the Chief of the Department of Internal Medicine “Clinica Medica” at the University Hospital of  Chieti, Italy. He is currently also the Director of the Postgraduate School of Internal Medicine at the University School of Medicine in Chieti.

He has been elected to membership in prestigious societies, including: Council on Thrombosis of the American Heart Association, International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis, New York Academy of Sciences, Working Group “Thrombosis and Platelets”of the European Society of Cardiology, Working Group “Peripheral Circulation”of the European Society of Cardiology, Italian Society of Internal Medicine (SIMI), Italian Society of Cardiology (SIC),  Italian Society of Vascular Pathology, Italian Society of Haemostasis and Thrombosis, Italian Society for the study of Atherosclerosis, and Associate Editor of  European Journal of Internal Medicine.
