![]() After completing radiation oncology training at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Steven works as a staff specialist at the Peter Mac Moorabbin Campus sub-specialising in breast radiotherapy. He has been a local investigator on a number of local and international breast clinical trials including RAPID (randomised trial of accelerated partial breast irradiation) and SUPREMO (selective use of postoperative radiotherapy after mastectomy). His current research interests include technological advances in radiation oncology including implementing a deep inspiration breath hold radiotherapy technique to reduce heart irradiation in the treatment of left sided breast cancers and being the principal investigator on a current pilot investigating the use of SABR (stereotactic ablative radiotherapy) in the treatment of oligometastatic breast cancer (BOSTON) which will subsequently include combining SABR with the PD-1 inhibitor, Pembrolizumab. |
